Click for sign's details Emanuel Ringelblum (1944-1900), was born in Buchach, Ukraine. Historian, social worker and politician. He documented the life of the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto where he was, and was finally murdered there.
Click for a larger image Chava Rosenfarb (1923-2011), born in Lodz, Poland. Poet and writer. She stayed in several Nazi extermination and concentration camps and survived them. In 1950 she immigrated to Canada where she lived until the day of her death.

After World War II he moved to Paris, and in 1953 to the United States where he was the editor of the newspaper "The Forward".
Click for a larger image Rachel Auerbach (1903-1976), born in Lanivtsi, Ukraine. Writer, journalist and historian. She was in the Warsaw ghetto, after which she concentrated on documenting the Holocaust. In 1950 she immigrated to Israel where she continued documenting the Holocaust.
Click for a larger image Szmerke Kaczerginski (1908-1954), was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. Writer, poet and journalist. Was a partisan after escaping from the Vilnius ghetto to the nearby forest. In 1950 he moved to Argentina. He wrote and documented the events of the Holocaust.

Click for a larger image Elie Wiesel (1928-2018), born in Sighetu Marmației, Romania. Writer and journalist. After being in concentration and extermination camps and being rescued, he dedicated his life to commemorating the Holocaust. Emigrated to the United States in 1956. Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (1986) for his activities to commemorate the Holocaust and dozens of other awards.
