Itzhak Katzenelson (1886-1944), born in Karelichy, Belarus. A poet and playwright who worked in Poland. Known for the songs "How beautiful are the nights in Canaan" and "Five years on Michael". While in a concentration camp he continued to write and was called "The mourner of the Holocaust". Murdered in the Auschwitz extermination camp.
Click for a larger image Abraham Bick (1913-1990), born in Kamaryn, Belarus. Rabbi, journalist and researcher of Judaism whose views were close to socialism. Lived in the United States most of his life.
Click for a larger image Aaron Zeitlin (1898-1973), was born in Uvaravichy, Belarus. A poet and writer who wrote in Yiddish and Hebrew. Wrote plays, sketches, songs (among them the song "Donna Dona") and more. Son of Hillel Zeitlin.
Click for a larger image Hillel Zeitlin (1871-1942), born in Karma, Belarus. Writer and thinker who wrote in Yiddish and Hebrew. Murdered in the Warsaw Ghetto, before being sent to the Treblinka extermination camp. Aharon Zeitlins father.

Click for a larger image Abraham Joshua Heschel (1907-1972), was born in Warsaw, Poland. Researcher of Israeli thought and one of the main Jewish researchers in the United States where he arrived in 1940.
