The sign is in the square where the socialist Paolo Mirmina (1897-1920) was murdered in 1920, who was active in the struggle of the Sicilian peasants and workers. His actions were not liked by the landowners and the Sicilian mafia who assassinated him on October 3, 1920.

The sign was placed on the 24th anniversary of his murder.
