AUTEUR DE CE JARDIN DE CEUX DE VERSAILLES CHANTILLY SAINT CLOUD MEUDON ET DES PLUS BEAUX PARCS DE FRANCE
The plaque and the statue are dedicated to the landscape architect who was also the gardener of Louis XIV, André Le Nôtre (1613-1700). Best known as the one who designed the Tuileries Gardens and the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, he also designed gardens in Germany and Great Britain.
The statue at the entrance to the Tuileries Gardens designed by Notre is a copy of the statue made by Antoine Coysevox and found in the Saint-Roch church in Paris.
