Animals in the area Common wolf (grey). The wolf belongs to the Canidae family and is the largest of them in Israel, it can be identified by its long tail, and by the white patch around its mouth. It is common in the northern hemisphere, but looks different in different climates. The wolf is a carnivorous animal but also feeds on plant food, mainly fruits and vegetables. The mongooses are active mainly in the morning and evening hours. They prey on animals of all species. The mongooses live in burrows dug by other animals, in rock crevices or thickets of plants. Their lifespan is about 14 years.
Common viper: In Israel there are nine species of poisonous snakes, one of which is the viper. Its length reaches 1.35 meters and its weight is 1.5 kg. The snake is active mainly at night, but sometimes on pleasant spring days it can be found exposed to the sun. The snake does not chase its prey but waits for it in an ambush, the snake swallows the prey whole because it has no teeth Chewing.
