MAJOR LIONEL JUENE British officer (1880-1943) who served as commander of Jaffa Port. During the outbreak of the Jaffa Riots on May 1, 1921, he showed determination and bravery, gained control over the rioters, stopped the murder campaign at Beit HaHalutz on Yefet St. and rescued many Jews across Jaffa. Dr. Chaim Weizmann wrote to him that we will not forget our debt to him for his courage and spirit.
The sign is rectangular but its head is designed according to the emblem of the city of Tel Aviv
Unlike the other signs in this series, this sign is not dedicated to a particular underground, and in fact does not deal with the underground at all, but with the rule of the British Mandate.
