The Ottoman Wall

חומת הים של יפו העתיקה עברה בתוואי זה, לפני ייבוש הים לצורך בניית הנמל הבריטי. לאחר כיבוש יפו בידי הכובש נפוליאון, פורקה החומה והפכה לרציף הנמל העותומאני. לאורך הרציף נבנו מדרגות ירידה תפעוליות אל הסירות. החומה בנויה מאבני כורכר מקומיות, וניתן לראות את שורות האבן המקוריות ליד דק העץ.

مر سور بحر يافا القديمة على طول هذا الطريق ، قبل تجفيف البحر البناء الميناء البريطانن ، بعد احتلال يافا بيد المحتل نابوليون ، تم تفكيك السور وتحويله إلى رصيف للميناء العثماني . بنيت درجات مؤدية إلى القوارب . السور مبني من الحجر الرملين المحلن ويمكن مشاهدة صفوف الحجارة الأصلية بالقرب من السطح الخشبي .

Old Jaffa’s sea wall ran here until the British reclaimed the land to build their port. After Napoleon’s siege of Jaffa, the wall was taken down and the materials were used to build the Ottoman pier. Steps were built from the pier down to the ships. The wall was made of local sandstone; you can still see some of the original rows of stone near the wooden platform.
