Born in Plungė, Lithuania as Benjamin Feibelson (1889-1968), immigrated to Israel in 1907. After short studies at the yeshiva, he moved to the Bezalel School of Art. Upon graduation he traveled to Berlin and Paris where he worked in the offices of architects as a draftsman. He returned to Israel and established an architectural firm with his partner, the engineer Yehezkel Zohar. Most of Orell and Zohars activities were in the city of Haifa.
