Born in Moscow, Russia (1885-1966), immigrated to Israel in 1923. He began his architectural studies back in Moscow, and then moved to Berlin, Germany where he worked for Alexander Baerwald, and among other things he was involved in planning the campus of the Hebrew University on Mount Scopus. Known mainly for the design of the house of Haim Nachman Bialik (a sign with his name appears on the wall of the house ), a project he started while still in Berlin.
