THE POET RACHEL BLUBSHTEIN LIVED & WORKED IN THIS HOUSE
The sign is on the wall of the house where she lived - Rachel the poet (Rachel Bluwstein Sela), born in Saratov, Russia (1890-1931), immigrated to Israel in 1909. One of the greatest poets in modern Israeli poetry. She lived for many years in the Kinneret region, but in light of the tuberculosis she contracted, she moved to the city of Tel Aviv at the end of her life. Rachel is commemorated in many ways, streets named after her, gardens, schools and more. In 2011, a banknote (20 NIS) was issued with her portrait.
Note by Ike Specktor: Not many know but the owner of the house where Rachel lived when he heard that it was indeed the poet Rachel, planted palm trees behind the house to give it an atmosphere of palm trees like on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The trees are planted behind the house
