מפקורה
באוגוסט 1944 הפליגה מנמל קונסטנצה ברומניה שיירה של שלוש אניות: "בולבול", "מורינה" ו"מפקורה", בדרכן לאיסטנבול. משם היו המעפילים אמורים להמשיך את דרכם לארץ-ישראל ברכבת. בלילה הופיע כלי שיט לא מזוהה, כנראה צוללת סובייטית שטעתה בזיהוי הספינה, ופתחה באש. ה"מפקורה" נפגעה וטבעה תוך זמן קצר. 315 מעפילים טבעו, חמישה ניצלו.

Mafkura
In August 1944, a convoy of three ships - "Bulbul", "Morina" and "Mafkura", sailed from the port of Constanța in Romania to Istanbul. The illegal immigrants were supposed to continue their journey to Eretz - Israel by train. An unidentificd vessel, probably a Soviet submarine, appeared at night and opened fire at the Mafkura. The ship was hit and sank shortly after. 315 Ma’apilim (illegal immigrants) drowned, five survived.
