Placé au jardin des Tuileries en 1904 Dépôt du musée dOrsay, R.F. 1154
One of the statues in the Tuileries Gardens. The statue, which is 2.28 meters high, was made by Paul Gasq between 1893-1896 and was placed in the Tuileries Gardens in 1904.
The statue depicts the mythological figure of Medea who was a priestess and was also known for her ability to perform magical acts. The statue probably shows Medea before she murdered her two children, after her husband and father of the children - Jason, leaves her and falls in love with the princess of Corinth (Glauce)
