אברהם סוסקין (1884-1963) נחשב לראשון ולחשוב בצלמיה של תל אביב. הוא עלה ארצה בשנת 1905 ועסק בצילום עד 1934.
תצלומיו מהווים מקור עשיר לתיעוד שנות היווסדה של העיר תל אביב. בשנת 1934 סגר את הסטודיו לצילום ברחוב הרצל 24 ועבר לעבית הדו-אגפי ברחוב לילינבלום 12.
באגף האחורי פתח צינקוגרפיה, והאגף הקדמי שימש למגורי המשפחה. האדריכל זאב רכטר (1898-1960) שב מלימודיו בפריס בשלהי שנת 1932. במאי 1933 ניתן לבית סוסקין רישיון בנייה. ככל הנראה היה זה המבנה הראשון שהעמיד האדריכל עם תום לימודיו. החזית מחולקת לשני שדות עיקריים שהוגדרו על-פי פרופורציות חתך הזהב: אחד מצוי בצד המזרחי ומעוצב בצורת מלבן אנכי המעגן את המבנה לקרקע; האחר הוא מלבן אופקי היוצא מתוך המלבן האנכי, מרחף ונע מערבה. חלונות הסרט בקומה השנייה וחריצי האוורור במרפסת האורכית מעצימים את הדגש האופקי ואת התנועה הדינמית שמשדר המבנה.

SOSKIN HOUSE
LISTED INTERNATIONAL STYLE BUILDING

Original use: Soskin Family Residence and Soskin Zincography until 1951
Considered Tel Aviv’s first and foremost photographer, Avraham Soskin (1884-1963) immigrated to Palestine in 1905. His photographic oeuvre provides a rich documentation of the city’s early years. In 1934 Soskin closed his photographic studio at 24 Herzl Street, and moved to the two winged house at 12 Lilienblum Street.
He opened a Zincography in the rear, while using the front as the family dwelling. Architect Ze’ev Rechter (1898-1960) returned from his studies in Paris in late 1932. In May 1933, the Soskin House, was given a building permit. The façade is divided into two major fields defined according to Golden Section proportions: The first is located on the east, shaped as a vertical rectangle that anchors the structure to the ground; the second is a horizontal rectangle pulled from the vertical rectangle, hovering west.

The Soskin House was renovated in 2005.
