בית ספר תחכמוני
שימש בשנים תרצ"ב-תש"ח (1942-1948) את ההגנה - צבא המדינה שבדרך - כמרכז אימונים בנשק קל ולהכשרה במקצועות שונים לרבות, שדאות, טופוגרפיה, עזרה ראשונה, קשר והגנה עצמית.
כמו כן, שימש המקום מחבוא לנשק (סליק), שנתפס ב"שבת השחורה", מועד שבו ביצעה ממשלת המנדט הבריטי פעולה רחבת-היקף נגד מנהיגי הישוב וארגון ההגנה.

From 1942 to 1948, the Tachkemoni School
was used by the Hagana - Israel’s pre-State army - to train its members in light weapons, topography, first aid, and signal communications.
The school also housed a secret arms cache that was seized during Operation Agatha - also called "Black Saturday" - conducted by the British Mandate government against the local Zionist leadership and the Hagana

The sign is rectangular but its head is designed according to the emblem of the city of Tel Aviv
