The sign is on the wall of the house where the Jamaican-born nurse lived, who founded the "British Hotel" in the Crimean War, which was behind the lines and where sick and wounded soldiers were treated.
The sign was placed in 2007, and is on the wall of the house where she wrote her autobiography.
