Nili
The Nili organization was an underground and daring espionage movement established in 1915 to remove the Ottoman rule from the Land of Israel.
Its name was an acronym for the biblical verse, Sam I 15:29 "netzach yisrael lo yeshaker", "the Eternal one of Israel shall not lie. The members of Nili assisted the British forces in their fight against the Turks, providing intelligence and espionage and by so doing. aspiring to the founding of the national home for the Jewish people in the Land of Israel.
After years of activity, the organization was uncovered by the Ottomans who captured some of the leasers and killed them whilst others were imprisoned.
