PÉTANQUE Pétanque - Pétanque is a ball game from the bowling family (yard boules) that originated in France.
The sport combines tactics, thinking skills, concentration and coordination and is one of the few sports in which men and women are allowed to compete together in the same team or against each other
rules and course of the game The petanque game was held within a bounded frame measuring 15 meters by 4 meters. The surface can be soil, hard sand or any other material that allows the balls to roll.
The players are divided into two teams, in a format of one against one, pair against pair or three against three, the members of the group have special roles - approach and sniper, and they are activated according to the development of the game and the nature of the required solutions. Six balls are available to each team in a doubles or triples format.
At the beginning of the game, a small wooden ball is thrown by one of the players from the starting team, which serves as a target, followed by an iron ball of a team with the aim of getting as close to it as possible. A player of the opposing team throws a ball and tries to overcome the first ball, near him to the target ball. If he succeeds, the obligation to throw goes to the first team. If he fails, his team continues to throw its balls until it manages to overcome or its stock of balls runs out. The first team now throws their balls in an attempt to overcome the obstacles that the second team created and increase the number of their balls that are ahead of the closest ball of the opposing team, to the target ball. Any ball missed will count as a point. The game is made up of blocks and the first team to score 13 points wins.
The game combines tactical abilities that take into account the topography of the area, the abilities of the role bearers, the number of balls remaining, the array of balls thrown and other factors.
