המקום שימש גם מחבוא לנשק (סליק).

Between 1936 and 1948, the Strauss residence was used by the Hagana - Israel’s pre-State army - as a base for training in light weapons, fieldcraft, topography, first aid, signal communications and self-defense.
It also housed a secret arms cache.

The sign is rectangular but its head is designed according to the emblem of the city of Tel Aviv
