The sign is on the wall of the house where they lived: Zvi Friedland - theater director and actor, born in Malyn, Ukraine (1898-1967), immigrated to Israel in 1928 (together with the "Habima" theater). One of the founders of the "Habima" theater in Moscow. As part of the acting schools he founded, he educated dozens of well-known actors. Won the Theater Award from the Municipality of Tel Aviv. He met his wife Chanale Handler back in Moscow when they played at the "Habima" theater.
Chanale Hendler - theater actress - was born in Bialystok, Poland (1901-1987), immigrated to Israel in 1928. Played in the "Habima" theater in Moscow, and continued to play in the "Habima" theater in Israel.
The house where the couple lived was part of the workers’ dormitories, buildings built at the initiative of the Histadrut, built in the international style and inhabited by Histadrut activists and artists
