The Main Signal Station
used by the Hagana forces - Israel’s pre-State army – operated out of this water tower, from which they relayed commands and orders throughout the country. They communicated with remote towns and villages using Morse code, and used signal flags to make contact with closer locations.

The sign is rectangular but its head is designed according to the emblem of the city of Tel Aviv
