משפ’ אלקלעי דניאל ורבקה
לבית אופלטקא
ר’ דניאל אלקלעי 1943-1870 נין לר’ דניאל אלקלעי שעלה לארץ ב-1822 מארצות הבלקן.
בתקופת המנדט היה "מוכתר" מרכז העיר ומאנשי הציבור של אוהל משה. נשא לאישה את רבקה, נכדתו של ר’ יצחק אופלטקא, מייסד בית המדרש "דורש ציון".
גידלו בשכונה את ילדיהם אסתר וריינה, שלמה חי ומזל והבן הצעיר דוד.

Alcalay Daniel and Rivkah
(nee Oplatka)
R’ Daniel Alcalay, 1870 - 1943, was a great-grandson of R’ Daniel Alcalay who came on aliya from the Balkan in 1822.
During the Mandate he was mukhtar of the city centre and a leading figure in Ohel Moshe. He married Rivkah Oplatka, the granddaughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Oplatka, the founder of the Doresh Ziyyon beth midrash. They raised their children, Esther, Raine, Shlomo Chai, Mazal and David in Ohel Moshe.

אב המשפחה עסק במסחר, שנים רבות וברוכות שימש כגבאי בבית-הכנסת הגדול של אוהל משה, המרכז הרוחני-קהילתי לתושבי השכונה. אם המשפחה הקדישה ממרצה ואונה להגיש סיוע וסעד לנזקקים.

Pessah David S. and Rebecca (nee Levy)
Fifth generation in Eretz-Israel, of Balkan origins, the Pessah family was one of the first to settle in Ohel Moshe. David, the father of the family was a merchant and served for many years as the gabai of the main synagogue in Ohel Moshe, the communal and spiritual centre of the neighborhood. Rebecca, his wife spent much time and energy in caring for the needy.

הרב אליהו פרדס
אב לחמישה בנים ולארבע בנות. נולד בירושלים ב-1893. למד בבתי מדרש וישיבות, שירת בצבא הטורקי, ולמד במחזור הראשון של האוניברסיטה העברית.
הוסמך לרבנות ע"י גדולי הרבנים.
עסק בהוראה וניהל את ביה"ס לבנות באוהל משה.
חבר המוסדות העליונים של עדת הספרדים, רבה הראשי של רמת-גן ב- 1961-1953 ורבה הראשי של ירושלים עד פטירתו ב-1972, גר באוהל משה כל ימיו.

Pardess Rabbi Eliyahu
Born in Jerusalem in 1893, Rabbi Eliyahu Pardess had five sons and four daughters. He stuided in various religious institutes, served in the Turkish army, and attended the Hebrew University.
He was headmaster of the Ohel Moshe girls’ school and a member of the Higher Council of the Sephardi Community as well as Chief Rabbi of Ramat Gan between the years 1953-61 and of Jerusalem until his passing in 1972.
He lived in Ohel Moshe all his life.

עשרים וארבעה דורות בארץ.
ניסים בן למשפחה ענפה בירושלים איש עמל, שוחט וחזן. האמא, דודו בת לראב"ד חיים דוד סורנאגה, נולדה בכפר השילוח. אישה רבת פעלים. חמשת ילדיהם גדלו, חונכו ונישאו באוהל משה.

Meyuhass Nissim and Dudu
(nee Sornaga)
Nissim, son of a widespread Jerusalem family twenty-four generations in Eretz-Israel, was a hard-working ritual slaughterer and cantor.
His wife Dudu, a capable woman, was the daughter of David Sornaga, the chief rabbi of the Beth Din. Dudu was born in the Siloam. Their five children were all born, raised, educated and married in Ohel Moshe.

לבית הכהן
הרב אברהם פילוסוף נולד ב-1864, עלה מלריסה שביוון. נשא לאישה את ג’ויה, בת הרב רפאל משה הכהן מיפו ב -1881. כיהן כסגן הראב"ד. חיבר פסקי - דין וחידש בפרשנות.
כיהן ברבנות הראשית עם הקמתה, נשיא ראשון של בית היתומים הספרדי, ראש ישיבה וחבר ועד העיר.
מהמתיישבים הראשונים באוהל משה.

Philosoff Rabbi Avraham
Ya’akov and Joya (nee HaCohen)
Rabbi Avraham Philosoff was born in 1864 and came on aliya from Larissa, Greece. In 1881 he married Joya, the daughter of Rabbi Rafael Moshe HaCohen from Jaffa. Rabbi Philosoff was deputy head of the Rabbinical Court, a member of the Chief Rabbinate, first president of the Sephardi Orphanage and a member of the city committee. He was one of the first residents in Ohel Moshe.

רחמים נשא לאשה את שרה (שרינה) בשנת 1912.
שניהם נולדו למשפחות ירושלמיות שורשיות והיו בין ראשוני התושבים של שכונת אוהל משה ובהמשך עברו לגור בשכונת מזכרת משה,
לזוג נולדו שלושה ילדים: ריינה (רינה) פולינה (דליה) ויהודה.
רחמים היה נגר אומן ומורה לנגרות בבית הספר אליאנס (כי"ח), היה נגן מנדולינה מחונן ואיש רעים להתרועע.

Shoshan Rahamim and Sara
(nee Kalamaro)
Rahamim married Sara (Sarina) in 1912. Both were born to long-established Jerusalem families and were among the first residents of Ohel Moshe. Later they moved to Mazkeret Moshe.
The couple had three children: Reina (Rina), Paulina (Dalia), and Yehuda. Rahamim was a master cabinet maker and woodwork teacher at the Alliance School. He was a gifted mandolin player and was popular socially.
