A battle that took place during Operation Nachshon. In order to prevent al-Qadir al-Husseini’s leader of the Arab forces from occupying the Castel, it was decided to occupy the Castel. In a battle on April 8, ’Abd al-Qader al-Husseini was killed and to rescue his body, masses of Arabs stormed the mountain and occupied it. In this battle, 18 members of the Fifth Battalion were killed, as well as 21 fighters from the Jerusalem Brigade.
