Born in Monastyryska, Ukraine (1899-1980), immigrated to Israel in 1920. Prior to arriving in Israel, he studied architecture in Vienna, Austria and Rome, Italy. After immigrating to Israel, he traveled to Europe to study with well-known architects (Erich Mendelssohn - Berlin, Bruno Tout - Moscow). He returned to Israel in 1932 and stood out as one of the International Style architects. He designed many homes, including public buildings such as hospitals, schools and more.
One of the founders of the "Hug group of architects" (together with Yisrael Dicker, Zeev Rechter and Arieh Sharon) a group that in the 1930s promoted the professional architectural conversation in Israel.
In 1940 he moved to the United States, where in addition to working as an architect he served as a professor at the prestigious Yale University.
