The sign is on the wall of the building where he lived - Yaakov Shabtai, writer, playwright and translator, born in Tel Aviv, Israel (1934-1981).
One of the most important Israeli writers, his best known book is "Zikhron Devarim", which describes Tel Aviv in the 1970s. The book is even being adapted into a movie.
In addition to writing books and plays, Shabtai translated many plays.
