The sign is on the wall of the house where Aharon Avni lived - painter, born in Dnipro, Ukraine (1906-1951), immigrated to Israel in 1925.
After studying at the Academy of Art in Moscow, in Israel he continued his studies at the "Bezalel" school.
Avni was very active in teaching art, he founded the "Avni Institute" as well as the college for painting teachers. Dozens of the leading artists in Israel studied painting with him.
Winner of the Dizengoff Prize for the art of painting and sculpture (1937, 1948)
