The sign is on the wall of the house where Chanan Winternitz lived - musician and composer, born in the Czech Republic (East Bohemia) (1914-1995), immigrated to Israel in 1939.
Before the establishment of the State of Israel he played in the Kol Jerusalem orchestra, and after the establishment of the state he became the conductor of the orchestra which changed its name to the Kol Israel orchestra. He arranged hundreds of popular songs as well as composed music for plays and films.
