Borochov Street is the main street of Borochov neighborhood, the first workers neighborhood in Palestine. The neighborhoods beginnings in a group of friends who in 1922 bought the land that stretched from the Musrara River, is Nahal Ayalon, to the top of the hill to the east of it.
A spirit of pioneering and socialist Zionism characterized the neighborhood. Each family in the members association received an equal area of land on which they jointly erected identical houses and with them auxiliary farms.
The Borochov Neighborhood Friends Association has the first right in the country in a number of areas: The association established the first cooperative consumer, later the Co-op, and its members received free education from the age of three and paid progressive tax, according to their income. This is also where the first branch of the youth working and learning movement opened (Noar HaOved VeLomed)..
Members of the Association also contributed to the security of the country: The Haganahs first weapons factory was set up at the Water Institute, and the first Haganas first Central Slick was built in the Beit Aldama courtyard.
A joint initiative of the Givatayim Municipality and the veterans association of Borochov neighborhood established a "first route", with signs that mention the houses and neighborhood institutions.
