The statue that was placed as part of the London Olympics held in 2012, commemorates the British swimmer Mark Foster, a British swimmer who accumulated many medals (the statue shows part of his upper body, and as you can see on the sign, on the back of the statue you can see him swimming)
The statue was made by Ben Dearnley and was placed in 2012 in the presence of the swimmer himself.
