THE PARK OF THE CHANTRERIE
A farm in a rural park
Agricultural domain of the chantres (choir of the Cathedral of Nantes) before the Revolution, the park became national property in 1792 and was then transferred to individuals. Today, it retains its 19th century landscape design by Dominique Noisette, at the request of Louis Auguste Levesque, owner at the time. Groves of trees, large perspectives and curved paths
highlight the majestic landscape of the Erdre. There are many remarkable trees: chestnut, giant sequoia or purple beech.
The castle, built in 1825 and then extended in the 1860s, now houses the headquarters of Atlanpole, a Nantes technology park.
throughout the year, the awakening farm welcomes schoolchildren to discover the animals, the vegetable garden or the bees in the apiary. A farm also open to the general public a few Sundays a year in fine weather.
18 hectares, a breathtaking view of the Erdre and the Chateau de la Gascherie, the most famous of the Erdre castles. La Chantrerie is the privilege of wide open spaces very close to the city!
