Comments:
The plaque in Noto’s town hall is dedicated to the townsman Orazio Catera who fell in the battle of Adwa in Ethiopia. The battle was in the first Italian-Ethiopian war, a war in which Italy tried to take control of Ethiopia (1895-1896) and failed mainly because of the battle near the city of Adwa in which the Ethiopians defeated more than half of the Italian force.
