The Avenue of Kisses

והיא השדרה, מעל כולם, מעל הזמן עומדת לה זקופה, חזקה/רואה הכל ויודעת מי אנחנו/ואני מדמיינת לי את ההורים שלנו/הולכים בה לעת ליל/והם אוהבים לה את שמה/שדרת הנשיקות [ יעל רנד-קדמון, 2011 ]

עצי השדרה שניטעו כאן בימי הקואופרציה, בשנת 1915, הם מסוג ברוש מצוי צריפי, מחטני ירוק-עד. מוצאם מאירופה הדרומית, גובהם כ-12 מ’ וקוטר נופם כ-2 מ’. אורך השדרה כ-140 מ’ והיא נמשכת למחצית אורכה של דרך עפר שחצתה את הוואדי וקישרה את הקואופרציה והמושבה כחלופה בטוחה לדרך שמצפון לישוב.
שדרה זו אכן שימשה דרך של טיול לזוגות אוהבים משני הישובים ומכאן שמה.

הברושים, שרובם עדיין צומחים כאן, הוכרו לשימור. יש כוונה לנטיעה מחודשת של הברושים שלא שרדו, ולהמשיך את השדרה מהוואדי מזרחה למושב מרחביה.

The Avenue of Kisses
And it is the boulevard, above everyone, above time, it stands upright, strong/sees everything and knows who we are/and I imagine our parents/walking down it at night/and they love its name/kissing boulevard [ Yael Rand-Kadmon, 2011 ]

The boulevard trees that were planted here in the days of the cooperative, in 1915, are of the common cypress type, with evergreen needles. They originate from Southern Europe, are about 12 m tall and about 2 m in diameter. The length of the boulevard is about 140 m and it extends to half the length of a dirt road that crossed the wadi and connected the cooperative and the settlement as a safe alternative to the road north of the settlement.
This boulevard was indeed used as a way of travel for loving couples from the two settlements, hence its name.

The cypresses, most of which still grow here, have been recognized for conservation. There is an intention to replant the cypresses that did not survive, and to continue the boulevard from the wadi eastward to the settlement beyond it.
