On the sign:
Here lived Sir Christopher Wren during the building of St Pauls Cathedral Here also, in 1502, Catherine, Infanta of Castille & Aragon, afterwards first Queen of Henry VIII, took shelter on her first landing in London
According to the sign, the architect Christopher Wren, who is known as the one who rebuilt London after the great fire of 1666 and in particular St. Pauls Cathedral, lived there. It is also claimed that Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIIIs first wife, stayed there when she arrived in London.
It is possible that the sign is wrong, since it is known that the house on which the sign is located was built around the year 1710, a year when the renovation of the cathedral was already finished, not to mention that Catherine of Aragon lived between 1485-1536, long before the building of the house.
