Born in Wiltshire, Great Britain (1723-1632) One of England’s greatest architects. Worked a lot for the restoration of London after the great fire of 1666 , and especially for the restoration of St. Paul’s Cathedral. As a scientist and astronomer, he was among the founders of the Royal Society and served as president of the Royal Society in 1682-1680. He designed buildings in the leading universities of Oxford and Cambridge, as well as many houses in London, among the most famous of which is the Royal Naval College building in Greenwich
