Saint-Denis-du-Saint-Sacrement
L’église a été bâtie de 1826 à 1835 par un architecte très actif, Godde, auteur de Notre-Dame de Bonne-Nouvelle, de la chapelle du Père-Lachaise et du séminaire de Saint-Sulpice. La façade, très simple, est pourvue en son centre d’un péristyle à quatre colonnes ioniques coiffé d’un fronton triangulaire, décoré par le sculpteur Feuchères d’une allégorie de la Foi, l’Espérance et la Charité.

Les statues de saint Pierre et de saint Paul sont placées dans des niches de part et d’autre de la porte. Le chceur est orné d’une grisaille de Pujol, et Delacroix a peint une superbe Déposition de la Croix. L’orgue de Daublaine-Callinet date de 1839. II a été restauré d’abord par Cavaillé-Coll en 1866, puis en 1969.

One of the series of signs describing historical places in Paris. The signs were placed starting in 1992 and are also called sucettes Starck (Starck’s Lollipops) after Philippe Starck who designed them.

The plaque depicts the Catholic Church designed by Étienne-Hippolyte Godde in 1826-1835.
The church is designated as a historical heritage site of France

History of Paris

Saint-Denys-du-Saint-Sacrement
The church was built from 1826 to 1835 by a very active architect, Godde, author of Notre-Dame de Bonne-Nouvelle, the Père-Lachaise chapel and the Saint-Sulpice seminary. The very simple facade has in its center a peristyle with four Ionic columns topped with a triangular pediment, decorated by the sculptor Feuchères with an allegory of Faith, Hope and Charity.

The statues of Saint Peter and Saint Paul are placed in niches on either side of the door. The hearth is decorated with a grisaille by Pujol, and Delacroix painted a superb Deposition from the Cross. The Daublaine-Callinet organ dates from 1839. It was restored first by Cavaillé-Coll in 1866, then in 1969.
