A monument commemorating Edith Cavell (1865-1915), a British nurse who during World War I helped and saved soldiers on both sides. Cavell, who operated in Belgium, also managed for more than 200 soldiers to escape from Belgium, which was controlled by the Germans. In 1915 she was accused by the Germans of treason and executed.
