The tombstone is in memory of those who fell in the riots of 1921 (1921), riots that began in Jaffa and included acts of murder and looting by the Arabs among the Jewish residents. In the riots, 47 Jews were murdered, and 48 Arabs were killed, mainly by British army fire.
