The sign is on the wall of the building where they lived: Eliezer Steinman - writer, journalist, born in Obodówka, Ukraine (1892-1970), immigrated to Israel in 1924. He published many books mainly about the great Hasidim and the Hasidic Judaism. He was also one of the leaders of the Writers Association and even edited its newspaper.. Winner of the Israel Prize for Fine Literature (1963), and the Bialik Prize (1959)
Reuven Avinoam (Grossman) - writer and translator, born in Chicago, United States (1905-1974), immigrated to Israel in 1929. Changed his surname after the death of his son Noam in the War of Independence (Father of Noam). He founded and coordinated the "Fire Coils" project, where works by those who fell in the Israeli wars are concentrated. Translated many works from English Winner of the Tschernihovsky Award for Masterpiece Translations (1958)
