The statue is located in Parliament Square, and is one of the 12 statues surrounding the square.
The statue shows British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who was especially famous in World War II, when he led Britain in its fight against Germany. The bronze statue, made by sculptor Ivor Roberts-Jones, was unveiled in 1973 at a ceremony attended by Churchill’s widow, the British Prime Minister and previous British Prime Ministers, when Queen Elizabeth II delivered a speech.
