On the sign:
סמל העיר תל אביב בבית זה חי ויצר האמן אריה מרזר תרס"ה-תשכ"ו 1905-1966
THE ARTIST ARIEH MERZER LIVED & WORKED IN THIS HOUSE
The sign is on the wall of the house where Arieh Merzer lived - a coppersmith artist, born in Warsaw, Poland (1906-1966), immigrated to Israel in 1945. Before immigrating to Israel, he was already engaged in creating copper art, and even presented exhibitions in Warsaw. Later he went to Paris to complete his studies. Winner of the Dizengoff Prize for the art of painting and sculpture (1951). In 1949 he moved to the city of Safed where he lived until the day of his death, so it is likely that the sign is in the house where he lived before moving to Safed.
