HaChish Hachish was the field corps of the Haganah from 1939-1948, a secret military organization that comprised brave and extremely fit volunteers aged 18-26. Despite the fact that there were more than twice as many members of the field corps spread over a larger segment of the population, the Palmach enjoyed greater glory in the public eye with the victory of the War of Independence.
