סמטת פלונית 2 | ازقاق فلانة ۲ | Plonit Alley 2

בית גצל-שפירא תוכנן בשנת 1920 כבית מגורים בסגנון האקלקטי על ידי אדריכל משה צ’רנר. המבנה הוכרז לשימור מתוקף תכנית השימור וממוקם בתחום העיר הלבנה שהוכרז על ידי אונסק"ו כאתר מורשת עולמית. בין פרטיו האדריכליים בולטים שני אובליסקים יצוקים בטון המקשטים את הכניסה לסמטת פלונית, ארקר מעוגל במפגש רחובות סמטת פלונית וקינג’ ג’ורג’ המשמש מרפסת סגורה ושלל פרטי נגרות, מסגרות ועיטורים בנויים המאפיינים את הזרם האקלקטי. שימור המבנה כלל את שיקום חזיתות המבנה, הפתחים המקוריים, קומת הקרקע המסחרית וחצר הכניסה הראשית.
שימור המבנה בוצע בשנת 2018 ע"י משרד ארכוד אדריכלים בע"מ.

The Gezel-Shapira House was developed as a residential building in 1920 by architect Moshe Cherner. It was designated for preservation under the conservation plan for Tel Aviv, and is located in the area of the White City declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Among its outstanding architectural details are two cast concrete obelisks decorating the entrance to Plonit Alley, the ’Erker’ (oriel window) at the intersection of Plonit Alley and King George street, and a large amount of carpentry, built-in frames and decorations that characterize the Eclectic Style. The preservation of the building included the restoration of the facades of the building, the original openings, the ground floor, the commercial ground floor and the main entrance yard.
The restoration and preservation process was carried out in 2018 by Archod Architects Ltd.
