הרכבת עולה מיפו לירושלים דרך הרי יהודה, שבמרכזם הרי ירושלים, הנמוכים ומבותרים יחסית לחלקים האחרים ובהם עמקים רחבים וארוכים לרוב. הצומח הטבעי באזור הוא חורש ים-תיכוני ואורנים ירוקים. מדרגות חקלאיות קדומות (טרסות) הן הנוף האופייני. הטרסות שימשו לחקלאות הררית ובמשך אלפי שנים ניטעו עליהן גפנים וזיתים, בוסתנים וגני ירק.

سافر القطار من يافا إلى القدس عبر جبال يهودا ، التي تتوسطها القدس ، جبال منخفضة نوعا ما تتخللها وديان واسعة وطويلة . النباتات الطبيعية في المنطقة هي غابات شرق اوسطية واشجار الصنوبر الأخضر . المدرجات الزراعية القديمة هي المألوفة . استخدمت المدرجات للزراعة الجبلية خلال آلاف السنين وزرعت فيها الكروم وأشجار الزيتون ، البساتين المشاهد والحدائق الخضراء.

The train ascended from Jaffa to Jerusalem through the Judean Mountains, in the heart of which are the Jerusalem Mountains, which are relatively low and. bisected mainly by long, broad valleys. The natural vegetation in the area is Mediterranean woodlands and evergreens. For thousands of years, farmers raised grapes, olives, fruit trees and vegetables on the region’s typical agricultural terraces.
