בין האישים המכובדים שעלו לירושלים ברכבת היה הברון אברהם בנימין אדמונד ג’יימס דה רוטשילד. הוא היה בן לענף הצרפתי של משפחת רוטשילד, נדבן וציוני, תומך עיקרי ביישוב היהודי בארץ ישראל בתקופת העלייה הראשונה. הברון היה ידוע בכינויים "הנדיב הידוע" ו"אבי היישוב". בתמונה נראה הברון רוטשילד עם שומר הראש האישי שלו - אברהם שפירא (משמאל). וכרטיסן הרכבת (מימין).

من بين الاشخاص المهمين الذين قدموا الى القدس بالقطار الذي ينحدر من الفرع الفرنسي لعائلة روتشيلد ، متبرع سخني . كان البارون أبراهام بنيامين ادموند جيمس دي روتشيلد ، وصهيوني ، دعم في الاساس الاستيطان اليهودي - م الأولى اليها . عرف البارون بألقاب عديدة مثل " السخي المشهور " و " والد الاستيطان " . في الصورة يظهر البارون روتشيلد مع حارسه الشخصي ( على اليسار ) وبائع تذاكر القطار ( على ا اليمين ) . في فترة هجرهم في الإباد - أبراهام مثاليرا .

Among the distinguished passengers to use the train to Jerusalem was Baron Edmond James de Rothschild. During the First Aliyah, the philanthropist and Zionist Rothschild, a scion of the French Rothschilds, was a key supporter of the Jewish community in Palestine. People called him "the renowned philanthropist" and "father of the Yishuv." This photo shows Baron de Rothschild with his body guard, Avraham Shapira (left) and a train conductor (right).

Sign No. 44 in a series of signs placed on or around lighting poles, including the history of the old railway line to Jerusalem, along which its route extends the HaMesila (Railway) Park.
