בתקופת מאורעות תרצ"ו-תרצ"ט (1939-1936) הפכה הרכבת בכל רחבי הארץ ליעד מועדף להתקפות הפורעים, וגם הקו לירושלים סבל קשות מחבלות במסילה, ממוקשים ומירי על רכבות חולפות. על מנת לצמצם את החבלות ביטלו, הבריטים את הפעלת הקו בלילות וכן הציבו חיילים בנקודות שונות לאורך המסילה.

في فترة الأحداث (1936-1939) أصبح القطار في جميع أنحاء البلاد هدفا مفضلا لهجمات الثوار ، وعانی خط القدس كثيرا من الاعتداءات على خطوط السكة ، ومن الألغام إطلاق النار على القطارات المارة . وللحد من الهجمات العي البريطانيون الخط ليلا ووضعوا جنودا في نقاط مختلفة طول السكة .

During the 1936-1939 Arab Revolt, trains throughout the country became targets; the tracks, to Jerusalem were also sabotaged and passing trains were fired on. To reduce sabotage, the British government eliminated the nighttime line’s operation and stationed soldiers at various points along the track.

Sign No. 24 in a series of signs placed on or around lighting poles, including the history of the old railway line to Jerusalem, along which its route extends the HaMesila (Railway) Park.
