The English Heritage Trust is a charity that cares for over 400 historical buildings, monuments and other places.

The sign is dedicated to J. Arthur Rank, an industrialist who began his career in the film industry by setting up a number of film studios that were eventually merged into the Rank Organisation, the largest corporation in the UK film industry.
