Ze’ev Jabotinsky
1880-1940

Man of vision - fought for the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz Israel, defended by a Jewish army.
Man of culture - writer, poet and gifted translator: fought for the revival of Hebrew as a spoken language.
Man of security - established the Jewish Battalions and organized the Haganah (Jewish defense militia) in Jerusalem during the 1920 riots.
Leader - strove to save European Jewry throughout the 1930s, prior to the Holocaust.

A sign belonging to the "Photograph in Stone" series. In this series, which is located mainly in the center of Jerusalem, historical buildings, prominent figures in the city’s history and more are commemorated.
