הבית
הבית רחב הידיים, הוקם בראשית שנות התשעים של המאה ה-19 על ידי אברהם זאב גורדון שעלה לארץ מליטא והיה לכורם ופעיל ציבור. משפחת גורדון התגוררה בקומה העליונה. בקומה התחתונה ובחצר, התגוררו שומרי המושבה, מורי בית הספר ואחרים, דוגמת אליהו איתן, איש ארגון "השומר" וישראל (לוליק) פיינברג, אשתו פאני וילדיו שושנה, אבשלום (לימים איש ניל"י וצלה.

חוות היענים
בחצר בית גורדון פעלה בשנים 1907-1914 חוות היענים הראשונה בארץ ישראל שהוקמה על ידי שמואל צבי הולמצן, חתנו של גורדון. הולצמן הביא גוזלי יענים מסודן וגידל אותם כאן לצורך מסחר בנוצותיהם. הולצמן שהיה יזם חקלאי, חדשן ופעיל ציוני, רכש בשנות השלושים את אדמות גוש עציון הקרוי על שמו (הולצמן = עציון).

מלון פנסיון לונדון
לאחר מלחמת העולם הראשונה עברה משפחת גורדון להתגורר בתל אביב והבית הושכר לשימושים שונים. בשנים 1922-1934 פעל בקומה העליונה של הבית "מלון פנסיון לונדון" שהקימו אהרון ורוזה לונדון. אורחי המלון קיבלו מיטה וארוחה חמה גם אם לא היה בידם לשלם. החדר המרכזי הגדול שבקומה השנייה שימש כאולם שבו נערכו נשפים וחתונות, התקיימו בו מועדון חברתי "אזר עם" ובית כנסת של עולי גרמניה. החל משנת 1939 פעל בקומה השנייה בית אוכל של רוזה נואה שהתגוררה בבית. בהמשך, מכרה משפחת גורדון את הבית למרדכי אורישביץ וליצחק צוזמר שחנות השעונים שלו שכנה בחזית קומת הקרקע של הבית.

שימור המבנה
הבית נרכש על ידי עיריית ראשון-לציון ובשנת 2015 הסתיימו תהליכי שימורו ושיקוו כחלק מיישום פרוגרמה להתחדות הלב ההיסטורי של ראשון-לציון. השימור נערך במימון העירייה בשיתוף תכנית מורשת במשרד ראש הממשלה. במהלך העבודות התגלו, שומרו ושוחזרו ציורי קיר ייחודיים מסוף המאה ה-19, תקרה מצוירת ונדירה מאותה תקופה ומרצפות בדוגמאות שונות.

The House
The spacious house was bult in the early 1890s by Avraham Ze’ev Gordon. He made Aliah from Lithuania and became a winegrower and a public activist. The Gordon family lived upstairs. The bottom floor and the yard were used as living quarters for Rishon’s guards, school teachers and others ike Eliyahu Eitan, member of "HaShomer" organization, and Israel (Lolik) Feinberg, his wife Fanny and their children Shoshana, Avshalom (later a member of "Nili") and Tzila.

The Ostrich Farm
In 1907-1914 the first ostrich farm in Eretz Israel was set up in Gordon’s house yard. The farm was established by Shmuel Tzvi Holtzman, Gordon’s son in law. Holtzman brought ostrich chicks from Sudan and raised them for the feathers trade. Holtzman was an agricultural entrepreneur, an innovator and a Zionist activist. in the 1930’s, he acquired the lands of Gush Etzion, named after him (Holtzman = Etzion).

Hotel Pension London
After World War I the Gordon family moved to Tel Aviv and the house was leased out for various uses.
In 1922-1934 the top floor housed "Hotel Pension London" established by Aharoan and Rosa London. The hotel guests got a bed and a worm meal even if they could not afford it. The main large room on the second floor was used as a hall for balls and weddings, as a social club "Azar Am" and as a synagogue. In 1939, Rosa No’e, a tenant in Gordon’s house, opened a small eating house in her apartment on the second floor. Eventually, the Gordon family sold the house to Mordechai Urishevitch and to Itzhak Tzuzmer. Tzuzmer opened a clock shop on the ground floors façade.

Conservation of the House
The house was acquired by Rishon LeZion’s Municipality and in 2015 the conservation and restoration processes were finished as part of a plan for the renewal of Rishon Le-Zion’s historical center. The conservation was funded by the Municipality along with the Prime Minister’s Office Heritage Program. During the conservation process, unique murals, a rare painted ceiling and floor tiles in various patters dating to the late 19th century were discovered, conserved and restored.
