Latrun’s Outposts were held by the Jordanian Legion and blocked the road to Jerusalem. The occupation of the outposts took place as part of Operation Yoram. The force of the Fifth Battalion conquered one of the outposts after fierce battles against superior forces and without the help of the other forces (outpost 14), but due to a misunderstanding of the battle from the operation headquarters received a withdrawal order after the occupation.
