גפן
שם מדעי Vitis vinifera
הגפן נמנית על משפחת הגפניים. זהו צמח מטפס, עם עלים רחבים ומפורצים דמויי כף יד. הגפן מלבלבת בתחילת האביב והענבים מבשילים בקיץ. עם תום הבציר הגפן משירה את עליה, שחוזרים ומלבלבים שוב באביב. פרי הגפן משמש למאכל, לייצור יין ולייצור ענבים. מעלי הגפן נהוג להכין עלי גפן ממולאים. הגפן נמנית על אחד משבעת המינים.
מולדת הגפן התרבותית במערב אסיה עד הודו, ומשם עברה למזרח התיכון ולאירופה. מינים מבויתים של גפן קיימים עוד משחר ימי האנושות. לענבים ולעלי הגפן תכונות רפואיות.

Grape vine
Scientific name Vitis vinifera
The vine belongs to the Vitaceae family. It is a climbing plant, with broad, broken, palm-like leaves. The vine blooms in early spring and the grapes ripen in summer. At the end of the harvest, the vine leaves fall off, and bloom again in the spring. The vine fruit is used for food, wine production and grape production. From the vine leaves it is customary to make stuffed vine leaves. The vine is one of the seven species^*.
The cultural vine homeland in West Asia to India, and from there moved to the Middle East and Europe. Domesticated species of vines have existed since the dawn of mankind. Grapes and vine leaves have medicinal properties.
