The sign is in the house where Alter Druyanov lived - writer, editor, translator and journalist, born in Druya, Baleros (1870-1938), immigrated to Israel several times, starting in 1903, with the last time being in 1921. Druyanov is best known for the "Joke and Sharpening Book" in which he compiled a large number of Jewish jokes, he also published the "Tel Aviv Book" documenting the citys history. During his time abroad, he served as the editor of the publication of the World Zionist Organization - "The World", and in Israel he sometimes served as the substitute editor of the "Haaretz" newspaper. The house at 31 Melchet Street where he lived and where he ended his life belonged to his daughter as far as is known.
